Each time I write a book, my editor asks for my ideas for the cover art. That’s when I get a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. The title and the cover are super important. It’s the first thing that a reader will see. I know I’ve stood in front of shelves at bookstores and picked up books that had an interesting title. I’ve bought countless books simply because I liked the cover. So, I know how important covers are and I am TERRIBLE at picking titles and covers. I know what I like when I see it and I know what I don’t like, but I can’t tell you what I want before hand. Thankfully, I have been blessed with publishers who have the artistic vision to create the perfect covers (often with little to no input from me). My new series is no different. I wrote the book, but I can’t take the credit for the title or the cover. Today, thanks to Dru’s Book Musings, I got to reveal the cover for the first book in my new Bailey the Bloodhound Mystery Series, SNIFFING OUT MURDER. I have to say that I LOVE this cover so much.
