Class Reunions Are Murder by Libby Klein

Class Reunions Are Murder is the first book in a new series by Libby Klein. If you like humorous cozies that will make you laugh out loud, with wise cracking characters, cats, and gluten-free recipes, then this is the book for you.

Poppy McAlister is a widow who has been coping with the grief of her husband’s death by watching cooking shows, eating, and staying inside. Yoga pants can hide a multitude of sins (but not snacks) and only Figaro, Poppy’s cat, knows the true extent of her grief eating. That is, until she is coaxed (okay, guilted) into attending her 25th year high school reunion, by her best friend, Sawyer. Poppy packs a bag and her cat and heads back to her home town of Cape May, New Jersey. Once there, she realizes that her Aunt Ginny, always a bit eccentric, seems to be in trouble. The house has deteriorated, the yard is a mess and Aunt Ginny has  garnered the attention of Family Services for her recent antics, like roller skating on the boardwalk in neon jogging suits and cooking breakfast in a formal with long gloves and a tiara. When the high school head cheerleader, Barbie, is murdered at the reunion after fighting with Poppy’s best friend and Poppy is arrested for the murder, things get serious. Poppy has to save herself from going to prison for a murder she didn’t commit and save her aunt from losing her home and her freedom in a nursing home.

Class Reunions Are Murder is a truly funny, well-crafted mystery. The characters are unique with interesting and complex back stories. It’s a quick read and a great start to a new series. Get your copy today, Amazon
