It’s AUGUST 2020 and I’m stuck between, Will this year ever end? And, It’s August? Where did the time go? I’ve been writing, editing, revising. editing, and then editing, so the month is half-way over and I just realized I forgot to mention my newest release. So, let’s get caught up.
On Tuesday, August 11th, the 4th book in my Dog Club Mystery Series, Paw and Order released. YAY! Cue confetti, balloons, and pump up the music. It’s time to celebrate. The Dog Club Mystery Series features an amateur sleuth, Lilly Ann Echosby, her best friend, Dixie, and all of their dogs and dog-loving friends trying to solve yet another mystery. If you’ve been keeping up with the series, you’ll know that Lilly and Dixie own poodles. However, each book in this series features a different breed of dog. This book highlights Border Collies. Border Collies are herding dogs bred for herding livestock (especially sheep) in England’s Scottish-bordering county of Northumberland. These dogs are energetic, hard-working, and extremely intelligent. They do well with families but aren’t ideal for every situation. Why? A smart dog without a job (eg sheep to herd) can easily get bored. A bored dog will get into trouble. So, if you live a sedentary life in a small apartment, this might not be your ideal breed. But, don’t despair. Just because you don’t live on a farm in the Australian Outback with hundreds of sheep doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy this breed. Border Collies excel in dog sports especially herding, obedience, and agility trials. In fact, when I was competing in agility, border collies often dominated their height divisions. So, pick up a copy of Paw and Order, and learn more about this amazing breed of dog. Plus, there are all the other breeds from previous books (Poodles, Plott hounds, and West Highland Terries, just to name a few). Oh, and there’s also a murder to solve.

Lilly’s best pal Scarlett “Dixie” Jefferson has done it again! She’s convinced eccentric poodle-loving billionaire Archibald Lowry to sponsor a grand fundraiser for the Eastern Tennessee Poodle Rescue. Tragically, it’s too late to rescue Lowry, who is murdered at the event. His pet poodle is now orphaned, so Dixie begs Lilly to foster the adorable pup. Of course, she already has a poodle—her beloved Aggie, named after Agatha Christie. Fortunately, Aggie seems to like the new addition to the family, whom Lilly renames Rex, after her second favorite mystery author, Rex Stout.
But she’s barely welcomed Rex into her home when there’s an attempted poodle-nabbing, foiled with Aggie’s help. As desperate characters try to get their hands on the canine cutie, Lilly turns to Dixie’s dog training class to help her sort through a litter of suspects. Ultimately, she may have to unleash Rex as bait to collar the killer . . .
