Hollywood Homicide by Kellye Garrett

Dayna Anderson is a down on her luck, former actress struggling to make ends meet in Hollywood. It’s been tough, but she’s sold most of her belongings and moved into her best friend’s shoe closet (yes, its that big). She’s surviving. However, things take a turn for the worse when she learns the bank is about to foreclose on her parent’s home and the company she paid all of her savings to was nothing more than a scam. Dayna has to figure out a way to come up with a lot of money very quickly. When she realizes that she may have witnessed a fatal hit and run accident, she sets out to find the culprit and earn the fifteen thousand dollar reward. It isn’t long before the reward isn’t Dayna’s only motivation. After digging into the victim’s life, she wants justice as well.

Hollywood Homicide is the first book in a new series by Kellye Garrett and it’s a great cozy mystery with lots of plot twists, red herrings and humor. Dayna Anderson is a witty and daring sleuth who is resourceful, clever, and stylish. Having spent eight years working in Hollywood, Kellye Garrett does a great job providing the insider insight and unique details that lends to the book’s authenticity. If you like humorous cozy mysteries, I highly recommend Hollywood Homicide.
